Leah Boente-Hulcher

Leah is a native of Carlinville, Illinois. She graduated from St. Louis University with her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1995, and completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University in 2006.

Leah played basketball, volleyball and ran track in high school. She has completed 16 marathons and multiple triathlons. She is active in the Springfield Bicycling Club and Springfield Triathlon Club. She has coached her children in multiple sports. It is because of her passion for exercise and wellness that she enjoys working with challenging patients who are athletes on the field or athletes of life.

 


Kirsten Transue

Kirsten graduated in 1999 from St. Catherine University with her Masters in Physical Therapy. Her undergraduate degree is from University of Michigan in Political Science. She is enjoys marrying these two degrees by doing legislative work that helps patients access physical therapy.

Kirsten loves seeing patients get their lives back after an injury or surgery. Listening to patients desires and wants, and helping them achieve their goals is what really drives her. She stays active when not seeing patients with swimming, running, Pilates and last, but not least, keeping up with her 4 kids and husband.

 


Brigitte Cutler

Brigitte graduated in 1990 from the School of Physiotherapy at Otago University in New Zealand. She moved to Springfield 4 years later. She completed her Masters of Health Science in 2001 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007 from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis.

Brigitte enjoys challenging patients. She is an advocate for healthy living and maintaining good musculoskeletal health. Brigitte is an avid cyclist and loves to lift weights. She has a history of competing in triathlons, marathons and has completed an Ironman Race. Brigitte understands athletes and process of struggling with injuries. Brigitte is married and loves spending time with her young adult son.

 


Brad Blevins

Brad received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise and Wellness at SIUE. He then received a Masters in Kinesiology Sport’s Management at SIUE. All of this is in addition to his Associates in Applied Sciences: Physical Therapist Assistant from Southwestern Illinois College.

Brad enjoys working with athletes of all ages. He ran track in high school and at SIUE and brings great training ideas and drills into the clinic for injured runners. He has coached Jr. High track athletes in the area. He loves to be challenged and to see patients reach their goals. When not in the office, Brad can be found with his young son at his side.

 


Darrell Simmermaker

Darrell is originally from Jacksonville, IL. He studied at MacMurray College in Jacksonville and Bethany College in West Virginia. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology. He is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in IL since 1996 He moved back to the area in 2011 after working in Santa Rosa, CA, Louisville, KY, and Georgetown, KY.

Darrell enjoys running a race every month, snow skiing and soccer. He has coached his daughters in soccer. He and his wife Tina own and operate West of Wise Winery in Petersburg, IL. So when he’s not at the clinic you can find him either running or making wine!

 


Sarah Teague

Sarah is a Springfield, IL native. She graduated from Black Hawk College in Moline, IL in 2014 with an Associates in Applied Science, then became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. In 2018, she graduated from Pima Medical Institute with her Bachelor of Science for Physical Therapist Assistants.

Sarah played softball, volleyball, and ran track in high school. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and taking her Australian Shepherd dog, Annie, on runs. A healthy and active lifestyle is what led Sarah down the path to a Physical Therapy education and career. She loves working with people of all ages and any kind of ache or pain, because she loves to help people!

 


Megan Gibson

Megan is from Petersburg, IL. She graduated in 2019 from the University of Evansville with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science at Murray State University in 2016.

  • Functional Movement Assessment

Megan loves being active and outdoors. She played basketball throughout high school and continued participating in intramural sports throughout undergrad and PT school. She lives on Lake Petersburg with her husband and enjoys boating, swimming, and kayaking. Originally growing up on a farm, Megan loves fishing, hiking, and supporting her team-roper husband at rodeos.
